Model Customs Collectorate (MCC), Faisalabad, has placed 60 top exporters of the region in 'gold category' while one in 'silver category' for dispensing of expeditious duty drawback claims. The rebate claims of other exporters are also being sanctioned quickly.
Disclosing this, Khawar Farid Maneka, Collector MCC informed here on Thursday that during the financial year ended on June 30, 2009, duty drawback claims amounting to Rs 296.294 million were paid to the exporters. Collector Customs said that the MCC granted licenses to 40 manufacturing bonds in Faisalabad, under SRO-450 (1) 2001 out of which only 30 manufacturing bonds are operative. He said that these bonds made exports amounting to Rs 35.020 million and temporary imports of Rs 26.935 million during the last one year.
Giving details of the FOB value of the goods exported from Faisalabad Dry Port after Custom clearance during the year ended on June 30, 2009, Collector Khawar Farid Maneka said that MCC examined and cleared export cargo having FOB value of Rs 48212.899 million during this period.
He said that value of exported goods for the preceding two months (May and June 2009) stood at Rs 6710.700 million and Rs 3253.060 million respectively. Collector Customs classified that during the financial year 2008-2009, Cotton Yarn having FOB value of Rs 440.105 million, cotton fabrics valuing Rs 5608.533 million, blended yarn of Rs 896.870 million, blended fabrics having value of 19658.677 million, garments of Rs 4620.451 million, textile made-up valuing Rs 16626.154 million and miscellaneous goods of Rs 362.109 million value were custom-cleared by Faisalabad Model Custom Collectorate.
