Monsoon activity is likely to increase with moderate to heavy rain falls over most parts of the country for three days from Monday, Meteorological department said here on Friday. In its Pakistan Weather Outlook report, the department said that monsoon currents were reaching upper and southern parts of the country, while a seasonal low was present over Northeast Balochistan.
It said that isolated thundershowers were expected in most parts of Kashmir and the Northern Areas, during the next 48 hours. After which, regular monsoon rains (with isolated heavy falls) were likely to continue for the next few days. In NWFP, isolated thundershowers were expected in most parts of the province during the next 48 hours. After which, regular monsoon rains (with isolated heavy falls) were likely to continue for the next few days.
In Islamabad and Punjab, isolated thundershowers were expected in most parts of the province, including Islamabad, during the next 48 hours. After which, regular monsoon rains (with isolated heavy falls) were likely to continue for the next few days.
In Balochistan, isolated thundershowers were expected in the North-eastern parts of the province during the next 24- 48 hours. In Sindh, scattered dust storms and thundershowers, with the possibility of isolated heavy rainfall, was expected in Karachi, Hyderabad, Nawabshah and the Mirpurkhas divisions during the next 24-48 hours.
