NAIROBI: The Kenyan shilling was stable against the dollar on Friday as the market awaited a Supreme Court ruling on an opposition petition against the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta, traders said.
At 1313 GMT, commercial banks quoted the shilling at 103.10/20 per dollar, the same as Thursday's close.
"What comes up in court will give direction on political uncertainty ahead," said a trader from a commercial bank. The court has until Sept. 1 to hear and determine the challenge brought by opposition leader Raila Odinga.
