Jammu & Kashmir Council for Human Rights (JKCHR), a UK based Kashmiri human rights outfit, has urged the United Nations, European Union and the world community to take on board the unemployed juveniles of Jammu and Kashmir. This was demanded in a meeting on International Youth Day, at the NGO's Head Office in UK.
Dr Syed Nazir Gilani, Secretary General JKCHR, stated in the message that the youth of Kashmir have suffered due to the over politicisation of life and a total absence of support to young people in their career development. Also, JKCHR asked the three administrations of Jammu and Kashmir, India and Pakistan to create a separate Ministry and float a separate budget for the development and work engagement of youth in the territories under their respective control.
The London-based NGO asked the world community to revisit its obligations towards an untapped work force comprising of educated employable, educated unemployable and uneducated unemployable at a time when the world is hit by economic meltdown and climate change, the message said.
