PML-Q like minded group has convened general council meeting on August 20 and has invited all the members including Chaudhry brothers to the meeting. PML-Q like minded group senior leadership while addressing a press conference here on Thursday made it clear that they were not dancing on some one other's tunes.
They added that it was a unanimous decision of the party general council that Chaudharys' of Gujrat were trying to use the party as their personal property and their attempt will be foiled. Senior leaders included Hamid Nasir Chattha, Humayun Akhtar Khan, Salim Saifullah and Khurshid Kasuri, were present on the occasion. They said whatever decisions would be taken in general council's meeting would be acceptable to all. Senior leaders made all endeavours to avoid any split in party and keep it united through dialogue with Chaudhrys of Gujarat, they indicated.
A committee was also constituted to nominate consensus candidates in the party election, they held. On the other hand Chaudhry brothers got them elected for next term while sitting in their home, they alleged party elections were illegal and unconstitutional, they underlined, and therefore, like minded group had conveyed their reservations to election commission.
Political decisions should be taken in political arena, they stressed. Responding to a question they said that they did not accept incumbent leadership adding any decision taken by Chaudhrys would be rejected. They maintained that they would announce their future line of action after holding general council meeting of their party.
