Heavy rain expected today

The Meteorological department has forecast fairly widespread moderate to heavy rain with thunderstorm over Sindh for today (Monday). Scattered rain is also predicted over NWFP, northern Punjab and Kashmir.
In its Sunday evening weather report, the department said that according to meteorological analysis a monsoon weather system lies over Western Madhya Pradesh and South Rajasthan (India). A fresh westerly wave is also likely to approach upper parts of the country on Monday (today). Under this scenario, weather conditions are as follows:
In Sindh widespread rains with Dust-thunderstorm are expected in most parts of the province, with possibility of isolated heavy rainfall during next 24-48 hours and decrease thereafter. Localised flooding in some areas cannot be ruled out.
Scattered to widespread rains expected in Kashmir and Northern areas during next 2-3 days and decrease thereafter. Widespread rains and thunderstorm with isolated heavy rainfall are expected in the province during next 2-3 days. This weather system has potential to produce localised flooding in some areas of Punjab. Islamabad is also likely to receive thundershowers during the period.
NWFP is expected to receive rain with dust-thunderstorm in many places of the province during next 2 days.
While Balochistan is expected to receive scattered rain with dust-thunderstorm in the South of the province, particularly along the Makran coast during next 24-48 hours.
The Met office has also forecast scattered rains over the upper and lower catchment areas of Indus, Jhelum, Ravi and Chenab rivers today.
Meanwhile the Flood Warning Centre Lahore has reported that all the major rivers were flowing below low flood level. The peak of this year's only low flood in river Indus has died down into the Indus Delta and Arabian Sea on Sunday after passing through the Guddu, Sukkur and Kotri barrages.
The Sindh Irrigation department discharged 0.1 million cusecs water downstream the Kotri Barrage on Saturday into the delta. This might be last release of such a large quantity of fresh water into the sprawling delta at the fag end of the current monsoon season.
