The Divisional Commissioner Tahir Hussain said that the district administration, police establishment and elected representatives should work in a co-ordinated manner for the success of Sastay Ramazan Bazaars, arranged in the division on the special instructions of the Punjab Govt.
He was addressing a meeting of DCOs, DPOs and elected representatives of all the four districts of the division, held here on Monday, to review the arrangements regarding Sastay Ramazan Bazars and mobile flour sale points. On this occasion, he specially appreciated the arrangements made by the district administration Faisalabad and asked the other district heads to follow the same spirit for the successful holding of Sastay Ramazan Bazars.
He also urged the DCOs to ensure the smooth supply of essential commodities to consumers on reasonable and affordable rates. He also asked them to make sure the proper monitoring of prices, fixed by them, and to impose heavy fines on violators, through the Special Price Control Magistrates. Furthermore, the commissioner asked the DCOs to keep a vigilant eye on the working of the staff, deputed at the Ramazan Bazars and the mobile flour sale points, to ensure transparency.
He also stressed upon them to ensure the establishment of green channels at these bazaars for the supply of fresh and quality vegetables and fruits to consumers. Moreover, the Commissioner instructed them to arrange electronic weighing and measuring scales at stalls to make certain the quantity of sold items. He directed the DCOs to prepare proper lists of unsold atta, returned from the sale points, and to adjust it in the stock.
He also asked them to ensure the deployment of Civil Defence Personnel at the Sastay Ramazan Bazaars, the fixation of banners and boards at stalls, special arrangements for women and old age citizens and public address systems at these bazaars. On this occasion, he instructed the DPOs to ensure security and discipline at the bazaars and sale points. The DCOs Saeed Wahlah, Rana Muhammad Tahir, Amanullah Khan, DPOs Sultan Ahmad, Fayyaz Khan, Rana Ahmad Hassan, SSP Yousaf Haral, SP Admn. Hassan Khan, MPA Rao Kashif Rahim, AC (R) Mahr Shafqat Ullah Mushtaq and other concerned officers participated in the meeting.
