Chairman Chief Minister's Task Force, Dr Asad Ashraf has inaugurated 2nd round of special Anti-Polio Campaign in Lahore at Government Model Town Hospital here on Saturday. The 2nd round will be conducted from 7th to 9th September during which 2,478 mobile teams of Health Department will administer polio drops to 1,447,000 children of up to 5 year of age.
Dr Asad Ashraf said that mobile polio vaccination teams would also distribute leaflets on preventive measures from dengue fever in order to create awareness about the disease. On this occasion, DG Health, Dr Muhammad Aslam Chaudhry disclosed that the department has constituted 2,478 mobile vaccination teams to visit door to door whereas 237 static teams would administer polio drops to the travelling children at 99 transit points of the city.
He further said that pamphlets related to preventive measures against dengue have also been handed over to the mobile teams for distribution. He said that strict monitoring system has been evolved to check the performance of mobile teams. Health department's officials and WHO representatives would also visit different areas of the city to check the teams at random.
