Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Parliamentary Leader in National Assembly Faisal Saleh Hayat while rejecting the allegations levelled against him by Federal Minister for Water and Power Raja Pervez Ashraf, has once again asserted that massive corruption was involved in the highly controversial rental power plants (RPPS) project.
Talking to Business Recorder on Friday, he said that no international company was given the task to oversee the whole process to ensure transparency in the deal. He alleged that the power plants were being imported only to provide benefits to the President and Prime Minster and their front men. "All rules and laws were violated in import of the power plants," the PML-Q leader claimed.
He said that he had a letter of Nepra, as per the letter the tariff had been fixed at 18.14 percent per KWH. Meanwhile, Minister for Water & Power Raja Pervez Ashraf has asked MNA Faisal Saleh Hayat to resign immediately as his specific allegations pertaining to tariff of M/s IPL Faisalabad have been proved wrong.
This specific point had become a topic of heated discussion and loud debate in private TV channel. Faisal Saleh Hayat said that if her findings regarding the RPPs proved wrong he would resign. In case, the findings are established then Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf must resign. This challenge was accepted by Raja Pervez Ashraf and later this issue became subject of confrontation and heated debate on the channel and media.
