The Minister for Minority Affairs Shahbaz Bhatti has said that the government would repair the burned church of Sambrial and the culprits involved in the heinous crime would be brought to justice. A press release issued here on Sunday said that the minister, while his visit to the affected area, strongly condemned the incident.
The minister affirmed that the government would protect lives and properties of the minorities and will not allow anyone to destabilise the law and order. Bhatti informed that an immediate inquiry and apprehension of culprits has been ordered and culprits will be dealt in pursuance with the law.
He further informed the President and the Prime Minister have expressed their abhorrence on the incident and ordered a high-level inquiry. He appealed to the religious scholars and political leaders to unite and work towards prosperity, peace and religious harmony.
