Pakistan Muslim League (PML-Q) Likeminded Group president Salim Saifullah has said that his group will invite Sheikh Rashid Ahmed President Awami Muslim League to join Likeminded Group. Talking to reporters here on Tuesday after an Iftar dinner in the honour of journalists, he said that if Sheikh Rashid Ahmed joins PML-Q Likeminded Group then he would be allotted party ticket for the constituency NA 55 Rawalpindi.
He said that his party would fully support him in the forthcoming by-elections. Answering to a question, he said that if Chaudhry Brothers invites his group for reunification, they would seriously consider it. In this regard, any decision would be taken with the consultation of the party members.
Expressing his views about the deal between former President General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf and the PPP government, he said if any such deal was made, politicians should avoid giving statements for stability of Pakistan. He said that such statements are defaming the country.
He was of the view that involving foreign forces in the deals at every level clearly means that the government is putting Pakistan's sovereignty on stake and could prove fatal for the integrity and solidarity of the country. Replying to another question, he claimed that in case his party comes into power, they will resolve all the lingering issues within six months.
He informed that PML-Q Likeminded Group was in close contact with senior Muslim Leaguer including former Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali and in this regard, recently, he held meeting with him. Salim Saifullah added that Jamali has assured him that he would fully co-operate with PML-Q Likeminded Group and will provide guidance to them on every issue. Talking about future plans of party, he said they would visit Balochistan, Karachi, Multan and Swat to reorganise party at gross roots level after Eid.
