World champions Australia have regained the top one-day ranking after their 111-run win over England in Nottingham on Thursday. Ricky Ponting's side, who have a 6-0 lead in the seven-match series, edged just ahead of South Africa and must win the final game to enter the Champions Trophy starting next Tuesday in South Africa as the top ranked team, an ICC statement said.
If England prevent a series sweep in the final match on Sunday, Australia will drop back to third in the rankings behind South Africa and India.
