Chairman Punjab Education Foundation Raja Muhammad Anwar has said that the sixth phase of Foundation Assisted Programme will start soon. He expressed these views in a meeting at the PEF secretariat. The meeting, attended by the newly appointed Secretary Schools Punjab Chaudhry Aslam, envisaged policies for the new phase.
The chairman informed that in the new phase, applications would be invited from private schools of 10 districts of Northern Punjab including Sargodha, Rahim Yar Khan, Rawalpindi, Jehlum, Layyah, Attak, Okara, Mandi Bahauddin, Pakpattan and D.G Khan. Anwar said schools from the districts such as Chakwal, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Gujjarat, Bhakkar, Vihari, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Lahore, Narowal, Sialkot and Khushab which were included in the old phase, will also be included in the new phase.
He further said the program will be extended to 22 districts and revealed that the foundation up till now has imparted quality education to six hundred thousand children. aja Anwar said the purpose behind the program was to provide free of cost quality education by opening a door of opportunity to the needy students -PR
