To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of People's Republic of China, the Chinese Embassy will start its weeklong cultural activities here from September 28th (today). Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Embassy of China hold "China Cultural Week" at Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA).
The programmes of the cultural week include exhibitions on 60 years of Sino-Pak relations, a kaleidoscope of China and Chinese Marital customs. Chinese film shows would be the part of event with the screening of 3 movies including "House of Flying Daggers" on September 29th, "Country Wedding" on September 30th and "Li Mi Conjecture" on October 1st.
The photographic exhibitions will showcase the glimpses of advancements in China in various fields like education, culture, technology, foreign relations and exchanges, while a pictorial of 60 years of Sino-Pak relations would be the part of event.
The display of 'Chinese Marital Customs' will provide the people of the Capital to get a taste of Chinese wedding traditions with their costumes, decorative accessories and the images of their wedding rituals, an official of PNCA told APP.
The People's Republic of China will be celebrating the 60th anniversary of its founding on October 1st for which the Chinese government is planning a series of national activities to mark the occasion, while Pakistan's Embassy in Beijing as well as the Chinese Embassy in Islamabad are also contemplating to organise some events.
The Chinese Embassy will host a reception on a scale larger than usual by the Chinese Ambassador, Photographic exhibition depicting China's development, supplements in local newspapers and seminar on Pakistan-China relations.
Other programmes include visit of Chinese Youth delegation, Visit of children's cultural troupe from China, Joint seminar on Pakistan-China relations by the Institute of Strategic Studies, PTV to telecast documentaries on China and Talkshows, issuing a commemorative stamp and coin and functions by Pakistan-China Friendship Association.
