HRW wheat bids steady

Basis bids for hard red winter wheat in the US Plains held steady Monday, with planting of the new crop well underway amid good conditions. Fields were drying out enough in parts of Oklahoma to allow acceleration of seeding in that key growing state, with weather seen as mild and mostly beneficial through the week.
On the export front, the Iraqi Grain Board issued a tender Monday to purchase at least 100,000 tonnes of wheat from any origin. Hard red winter wheat futures at the Kansas City Board of Trade were called 3-5 cents higher on Monday after the benchmark December ended down 14-1/4 cents at $4.69-1/4 per bushel on Friday.
