Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Quality Control Board has decided seven cases of violations of Drug Act committed by the medical stores and also issued orders for further legal actions against them. Chief Commissioner and Chairman ICT Quality Control Board Islamabad Fazeel Asghar chaired an important meeting of ICT Quality Control Board here and also reviewed seven cases of violations of Drug Act committed by the medical stores.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Amer Ali Ahmed, District Health Officer ICT Dr Amirzada Khan, Drug Inspector ICT Muhammad Shafique and officials from Ministry of Health Islamabad. The Board decided to prosecute Rajput Medical Store, Ali Pur Frash and decided to send the case to the Drug Court Rawalpindi for further legal action against the offender.
Drug Inspector ICT had recovered veterinary medicines from the Medical Store. The owner had no sale license for these medicines. The Board also warned Gujar Khan Medical Store, Ali Pur Frash to ensure proper maintenance of sale and purchase record of medicines failing which necessary action will be taken under the rules.
The Board also decided to extend the sealing period of Amna Medical Centre, Ali Pur Frash for further 90 days from where veterinary medicines were recovered as the owner had no sale license for these medicines. The Medical Centre was also being run without drug sale license. The owner/proprietor was directed to get the drug sale license for the Medical Centre within 90 days.
The Board also decided to prosecute the Medicine Point, G-9 Markaz and decided to send the case against offender to the Drug Court, Rawalpindi for further legal action. Drug Inspector ICT had recovered expired and official medicines from the said Medical Store. The Board also decided to prosecute Akram Brothers Medical Store which was being run without drug sale license and without qualified pharmacist. Un-registered medicines and official medicines were also recovered from the premises of said store.
