The fixation branch of the Supreme Court of Pakistan has fixed review petitions of PCO and other deposed judges of the Lahore High Court, Peshawar High Court and High Court of Sindh for Friday on the order of the Chief Justice of Pakistan for clarification of the order passed by the 14-member bench of the court on October 5.
According to Supreme Court of Pakistan, the concerned office of the Supreme Court sought clarification from Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry as to whether notices of contempt of court, as directed in the order dated 05-10-2009 are to be issued to judges of the High Court alone or the same are also to be issued to judges of Supreme Court who were judges prior to 3rd November, 2007 and made oath in violation of order dated 3rd November, 2007, passed by seven members bench, as also the Judges of the Supreme Court who were appointed subsequently up to 15th December, 2007.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has passed the order that "prima facie there appears to be some clerical mistake therefore matter may be placed before the Court tomorrow for appropriate orders". It may be recalled here that earlier the hearing of this case was adjourned for October 12 by the 14-member bench of the Supreme Court. The case was fixed for the clarification of order passed on October 5, just to clear about the issuance of notices to judges.
