On the controversy relating to his visit to the GHQ a day earlier, Rehman Malik termed all reports as baseless and said he stayed in the GHQ for about two and a half hours. It may be noted that the media had reported that the Interior Minister was denied entry into the GHQ.
"I am ready to resign in case it is proved true," he challenged the media. When asked about the possibility of involvement of foreign hands in these attacks, he said he was not in a position to name anyone without proof. However, he added that the hidden hands behind the hired killers were trying to destabilise Pakistan. The government was fully alert and there was a strong co-ordination between the law enforcement agencies, he added.
He said the government would be focusing on capacity building in next six months to one year and special equipment would be imported from China in this respect. He also negated the presence of Black Water organisation in Pakistan. He appealed the youngsters to inform the government immediately through SMS in case they found any suspicious activity in and around them.
