National Assembly body on Women Development briefed on FWBL

To resolve the problems and challenges faced by First Women Bank Ltd (FWBL) and make recommendations for its effectiveness a meeting of the Sub-Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Women Development was held in FWBL Head Office on Wednesday.
The meeting was chaired by Ishrat Ashraf, MNA convenor of the Committee. Fouzia Ejaz MNA, Dr Zil-e-Huma MNA and Abdul Majid, Additional Secretary Women Development, attended the meeting. Shafqat Sultana, President FWBL briefed the committee about the recent decision of government to keep the FWBL in public sector by purchasing the share of its private shareholder banks through State Bank of Pakistan and expressed hope that in the light of the above decision Bank would be able to serve women of country in a better way. Ishrat Ashraf Convenor of the Committee appreciated the performance of the Bank and need to expand the outreach of the Bank.-PR
