Ulema have urged the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mashaullah Shakri to avoid issuing statements, which could affect bilateral ties. They expressed these views during a meeting with Chairman Tehrik Akhuwat-e-Islami (TAI), Allama Inayat Ali Shakir here on Wednesday at his residence.
Speaking on occasion, Chairman TAI said that such statements would only benefit to anti-Iran, Pakistan elements. Allama Inayat Ali Shakir strongly condemned the suicide attack on revolutionary guards leaders in Iran (Sistan). He termed the attack as anti-Islamic activity, which was aimed to promote terrorism and extremism. He said, it might be a nefarious activity of an enemy who wanted to create rift between the two Islamic brotherly countries.
He added that Iran should ponder over it seriously. Allama Inayat Ali Shakir also welcomed the statement of President Zardari in which he (President) promised to hand over culprits involved in Iran suicide attack, if they move to Pakistan. He said, Pakistan was also a victim of terrorism, adding former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and hundreds of innocent Pakistanis have become victim of terrorism, while the Pakistan Army was conducting grand operation against terrorists.
At this critical situation, the statement of Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mashaullah Shakri and other Iranian leaders may harm the exemplary relations which exist between the two brotherly Islamic neighbouring countries, he added. He said, not only government of Pakistan but also the people have strongly condemned the suicide attack on the leaders of revolutionary guards.
He said that Iranian Ambassador and other leaders should avoid issuing such statements. He said there was a dire need to promote interfaith harmony, adding terrorists have no religion. He also denounced suicide attacks on the Islamic International University Islamabad(IIUI), and expressed his profound condolences with the bereaved families.
