The Punjab government is taking effective measures for elimination of bonded labour and funds of billions of rupees have been allocated under Annual Development Programme (ADB) for the elimination of bonded labour and poverty.
Punjab Minister for Population Welfare Neelam Jabbar Chaudhry said this while addressing a convention held here for creating awareness among labourers about importance of education. She said labourers are the backbone of national economy and the welfare of workers and ensuring their rights is of vital for the economic and social development of the country.
