Major changes in commodities on the wholesale markets were marked in dyes and chemicals, sugar, gur, bajra, khandsari, mace, big cardamom sago and darchini with modest fluctuation either way. The Monday session was slow, a few changes transpired on the commodity wholesale markets.
Raw rubber imported from Ceylon was marked mixed - (per lb) Merry (equivalent to RSS3) ended with gain up Re 1 to Rs 91, RSSV was quoted at Rs 91 and pale crape TPC3 shed Re 1 to Rs 97, Latex Merrytax (28kg) quoted at Rs 550.
The grain and seed market had all stuck up at the weekend level. On Tuesday prices turned lower on seed and grain markets unexpectedly as supply was said to be adequately matching the needs of the retailers. On the cereal side urad from Burma turned higher by Rs 200 to Rs 2900. Guwar from Sindh dropped Rs 100 to Rs 3000 and the other type was quoted at Rs 3300, guwar from Punjab was down Rs 200 to Rs 2700, while low type stayed unchanged at Rs 2300. Gur low type conceded Rs 200 to Rs 5300, while the better type was quoted un-budged at Rs 6200. On the gram side gram 50x50 rose modestly by Rs 50 to Rs 3250, while the other type was quoted at Rs 3450, yellow peas from Canada rose by Rs 50 to Rs 2675, while the other type was quoted at Rs 2825. On seed side, til low type was down Rs 200 to Rs 3300, better quality was down by Rs 300 to Rs 3400.
On Wednesday higher trend was marked on the Jodia Bazaar where dyes specially from India depicted uppish trend. Such as (per lb) golden HR quoted at Rs 100 and yellow H4G was quoted at Rs 120. Acrylic dyes (per kg) Red XGL 500pc rose by Rs 20 to Rs 440, red R300 pc up Rs 40 to Rs 440, yellow 7GL 500 pc ended higher by Rs 250 to Rs 1000 and red X5 GN 205pc rose Rs 80 to Rs 380.
On the seed and grain markets gur and other items showed depressing trend, as bajra low type shed Rs 100 to Rs 1450, while better type stayed put at Rs 2550. Khandsari rose by Rs 400 to Rs 6200, and on the seed side cottonseed oilcakes with bag in Sindh was down by Rs 20 to Rs 970 and Rs 980.
On Thursday no major change was marked on the wholesale commodity markets except in sugar which rose by Rs 100 to Rs 4800, while in Punjab was quoted at Rs 4375. On the seed side castorseed Sindh low type was down Rs 50 to Rs 1200, while better type was down Rs 25 to Rs 1250, cottonseed oilcakes in Sindh with bag better type was up Rs 20 to Rs 1000, while the other type was quoted at Rs 970.
On Jodia Bazaar kirana items (per 40 kg) mace ended higher by Rs 1400 to Rs 41,400, big cardamom gained Rs 200 to Rs 18,200, sago up Rs 100 to Rs 2050 and darchini shed Rs 200 to Rs 3900.
On Friday plastic-moulding compounds moved both ways. The changes were: PLASTIC MOULDING COMPOUNDS (Per lb): HDPE (FILM): Saudia 952 moved lower by Re 1 to Rs 63, Mobil went down by Re 1 to Rs 63 and TR144 moved downward by Re 1 to Rs 63.
HDPE (INJECTION): Sabic 200056 was quoted at Rs 63. HDPE (BLOW): Kuwait moved up by Re 1 to Rs 65. LDPE: 374 finished higher by Re 1 to Rs 69, MG 20 edged down by Re 1 to Rs 74 and MG 70 moved up by Re 1 to Rs 78.
LLDPE: W118 finished moved downward by Rs 3 to Rs 66, 7087 closed lower by Rs 2 to Rs 68 and Sabic 500026 was quoted at Rs 77.
POLYPROPYLENE (TAPE GRADE): India closed higher by Re 1 to Rs 56, Kuwait edged up by Re 1 to Rs 56 and Saudia finished upward by Re 1 to Rs 56. POLYPROPYLENE (INJECTION GRADE): Saudia edged higher by 70 paisa to Rs 56.50, India finished up by 70 paisa to Rs 56.50 and Kuwait closed upward by 70 paisa to Rs 56.50.
HIGH IMPACT (Per bag): Pakistani was quoted at Rs 3,843. On Saturday moong Punjab lost Rs 125 to Rs 4500 due to easy supply. Urad Burma, however, gained Rs 100 to Rs 3000 on strong demand. Gur better type lost Rs 200 to Rs 6000, while the low type retained the overnight level at Rs 5400, Khandsari fell by Rs 100 to Rs 6100, they said. Yellow peas Canada was up by Rs 50 to Rs 2725-2875, yellow peas dal Canada followed suit and picked up the same amount at Rs 3050-3200 and bajra low type shed Rs 100 to Rs 1350, the best type, however, rose by Rs 50 to Rs 2600. A solo deal was seen on the seed side, where cottonseed oilcake with bag from Sindh gained Rs 30 to Rs 1000 and good type rose by Rs 40 to Rs 1040.
On Jodia Bazaar dyes items ended higher. The changes were: DISPERSE DYES CHINA (Per lb): Navy HGLN 200 percent closed up by Rs 10 to Rs 140, Black EX SF 300 percent went higher by Rs 10 to Rs 140, Red Violet 3R moved upward by Rs 5 to Rs 195 and Yellow G finished up by Rs 60 to Rs 240. DISP DYES: Black BB was quoted at Rs 240 and Helitoper edged higher by Rs 20 to Rs 280.
