M/s Pegasus has always played a very important role in promoting the engineering sector. Once again they are organising the Auto and Auto Parts Pakistan 2009 at the Expo Centre. This exhibition will play a key role in the Engineering Industry of Pakistan. Such exhibitions must be encouraged and the Government must play an active role.
It is very important for the Government to seriously consider the engineering sector. In order for the country to be successfully industrialised, we require a very strong infrastructure, which includes a strong engineering sector. All industrialised countries have given great importance to this field eg USA, Germany, France, UK, Japan, Korea etc and now the new emerging giants like China, Turkey, and India etc.
For any nation to be successful in the field of engineering, it has to create an infrastructure where parts and components are easily available, either locally produced or imported, so that the inventory of the individual companies do not become a burden to them. It is time now that we create this type of atmosphere to encourage foreign investment or joint ventures in the manufacture of engineering goods and parts in Pakistan. A lot of research, study and hard work will have to be done in this field and Exhibitors can play a very important role and could become a great asset to the country. I congratulate Pegasus for organising such exhibitions and wish them every success.
