District Co-ordination Officer (DCO), Sukkur, Abdul Majeed Pathan on Friday presided a meeting to review arrangements for the provision of sugar in the district. Executive District Officer (EDO) Revenue Abdul Waheed Shaikh, police officials and other senior officers attended the meeting.
The meeting was informed that all measures had been finalised regarding provision of sugar at the rate of Rs 40 per kilogram throughout the district and that sugar would be available in one-kg packets to the consumers. The DCO was informed that 500 metric tonnes sugar had been procured on Friday only from the mills for the consumers. The DCO on the occasion directed the administration to make effective security arrangements at the utility stores and weekly bazaars.
