Unknown miscreants attacked and destroyed five oil tankers supplying fuel to Nato forces in Afghanistan, near here during the wee hours of Friday morning, officials said. A driver of the vehicle also died in the attack. The assailants fired rockets at the oil tankers parked beside Quetta-Mach road at a small hotel near Mach.
The rockets ignited huge fire at the tankers incinerating them completely. An unlucky driver of one of the tankers, identified as Juma Khan a resident of Saranan, Pishin died in the attack. The road linking coal-rich town of Mach with the provincial capital also remained closed for a few hours due to the fire, which engulfed the oil tankers.
Reports reaching here suggested that area administration and personnel of fire fighting department were fighting the fire on the scene by the time of filing this report. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
