Motorola publicly apologizes for its error

Just recently Motorola listed some of its smartphones to have the latest version of Android OS which they failed to entirely accomplish. Now, they have publicly apologized for its mistake.

According to Motorola, few of its smartphones were to be upgraded to the latest Android Oreo 8.0. However, the company claimed that its phone Moto G4 Plus would also contain the OS version but it was not mentioned in the list.

The mobile phone company altered its prior banners and ads making sure to remove all evidence of its promises. People noticed the change and published the earlier banners on social media after which Motorola accepted its mistake and promised to update the phone to Android Oreo with still no particular time frame yet provided, reported Tech Juice.

According to the official statement by Motorola sent to Android Police:

“It’s been brought to our attention that there were some errors in our marketing materials around Android O upgrades for Moto G4 Plus. This was an oversight on our part and we apologize for this miscommunication. It’s our general practice for the Moto G family to get one major OS upgrade per device, but it’s important to us we keep our promises, so in addition to the N upgrade it has already received, we will be upgrading Moto G4 Plus to Android O. Because this is an unplanned upgrade, it will take some time to fit it into our upgrade schedule. Watch our software upgrade page for more information.”
