Construction of Hazrat Shahbaz Qalandar mausoleum: Qaim directs to start work within one week
The Chairman Anti-corruption Establishment Sindh Meer Mohammad Parhiyar has said that abandoned construction work of the mausoleum of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (R.A) would be started within week time under the directive of Sindh Chief Minister and henceforth payment to the contractors would be made on the basis of quality of material and workmanship.
This he stated while visiting the Dargah of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar (R.A) on Saturday. The DCO Jamshoro, DCO Dadu, representatives of National Construction Company and other officers of lined departments were accompanied him during visit.
Talking to journalists on this occasion, Meer Mohammad Parhiyar said that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has taken serious notice of stoppage of work and has directed starting the same within one week. He directed the consultants that repair work for removal of leakage from tomb and roof be given priority besides alleviation of the Mazar be ensured up to the mark of international standard.
He directed consultants to replace the stone laid down in the floor of Dhamal Courtyard in case it is proved as sub-standard. Replying to a question, the Chairman A C Establishment said that the decision about starting the third phase of the construction of mazar of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar would be taken in the meeting with Sindh Chief Minister shortly.
Replying another question, Meer Mohammad Parhiyar said that inquiry against the contractors and consultants would depend on the quality and commitment made by them. Later paying surprise visit at the mini cricket ground and Malakhra ground at Sehwan Sharif, Meer Mohammad Parhiyar took serious notice of the encroachments in the area because of wrong entries in revenue record.
He directed the EDO Revenue Jamshoro to conduct inquiry into the matter of fictitious entries in revenue record, lodge FIR against the involved revenue officials and remove illegal encroachment from the area. Earlier, the Chairman Anti Corruption Establishment Sindh, Meer Mohammad Parhiyar inspected the development work of streetlights approved from Madina Chowk to Mazar of Baba Salahuddin at Kotri, which instead of payment of Rs 9.2 million was not started by the contractor.
The Chairman A C Estt Sindh said that on the complaint of public, he took notice and physically inspected the site where work on the scheme was not started. He directed the TMA Kotri and concerned contractor to start the work with immediate effect, failing which action would be taken against defaulters. He warned them that soon he will revisit the site and they should ensure that scheme is completed.
Later, the Chairman A C Estt Sindh visited Taluka Hospital Kotri and also took notice of sub-standard works of Public Health Engineering Department. He assigned the task to his team and engineers to examine and evaluate the quality of works and ensure that all defectives in the work are removed within 15 days.
