Nazim Karachi, Syed Mustafa Kamal has said that Pakistan does not want aid from US but trade so that Pakistani products had opportunity of duty free access to the American markets. "Don't give us aid, give us trade" and "don't give us fish- teach us how to catch the fish", he said in his lectures at Harvard and Columbia Universities during his week-long visit to the US.
In his lectures, Mustafa Kamal emphasised that ultimate victory in the war against terrorism can only be achieved through good governance in Afghanistan and Pakistan and mere hard forces, drone strikes and more troops cannot become the source of victory in the war against terrorism.
He was the first mayor of Pakistan who was invited for delivering lectures in the two world-renowned universities. Nazim said in his lectures that Karachi enjoys a special position in the region. The enemies of Pakistan are fully aware of this and they know that Karachi is the backbone of Pakistan's economy and supply line of the region.
He pointed out that 85 percent of equipment and material for Nato forces in Afghanistan comes through Karachi Port and, therefore, the adversaries want to cut this supply line. Mustafa Kamal said that MQM, which represents 100 percent people of Karachi, and the people who have been given awareness by MQM Chief Altaf Hussain, are countering these machinations.
