Petition against declaring Gondal as president LHCBA: LHC reserves its verdict

The Lahore High Court (LHC) has reserved its verdict in a petition against Pakistan Bar Council's decision of declaring Munawar Iqbal Gondal as acting president of Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA). Earlier, the petitioner Ahmed Awais prayed to the court to declare the PBC decision as illegal and sought directions to declare the petitioner as President as the LHCBA had elected her.
The court while reserving its verdict directed the counsel to submit citations before the court by next Monday. The court had already suspended the operation of the impugned order of the PBC issued on October 7,2009.
