Government departments owe Rs 1.73 billion to LESCO

The different federal and provincial government departments have to pay arrears of Rs 1.73 billion to Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO).
Chief Executive LESCO Muhammad Azhar Iqbal told APP here on Sunday that final notices had already been served to all defaulters of government departments to clear their financial liabilities towards LESCO within stipulated period otherwise their power connections would be disconnected and would not be restored until, entire amount of arrears was paid.
He said that special monitoring teams had been constituted to check the recovery drive and performance of all SEs, Xens and SDOs posted at Okara, Kasur, Lahore, Sheikhupura and Nanaka Sahib districts.
