Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Monday said "as Chief Minister I say there is no dispute between PPP and MQM and our every effort will be to keep them with us to continue to serve the people of Sindh". He was talking to media after offering condolences on the demise of Jam Abdul Rehman, cousin of Sindh Revenue Minister Jam Mehtab Hussain Daher and Tehsil Nazim Ghotki.
He said "we may have some difference of opinion with MQM but it does not mean confrontation". Qaim Ali Shah said that many attempts were made to de-stabilise PPP government at the center and particularly the Sindh Government while all the provincial ministers and Sindh Government had been working with smoothness.
To a question he said that NRO issue was made to explode to an disproportional extent under an organised campaign specially against PPP Co-chairman President Asif Ali Zardari. He said there is always an extent of limit to show tolerance and forbearance and when politics goes beyond the limit, it has to be dealt with, "but still we did not want confrontation".
He said that whatever Home Minister Dr Zulfikar Mirza said it had been in relation to the issue of law and order. The Chief Minister said that it could be that he made remarks with reference to someone else, but one particular channel, projected it out of proportion. He said "our present issue is that of law and order, terrorism and improvement in economy". On the occasion the Chief Minister presented a cheque for Rs 2 lakh for National Press Club, Oubaro.
