Anti-Vehicles Lifting Staff, Saddar Division, has arrested two members of Safdar Hussain car lifters gang, including its ringleader and recovered seven cars from their possession. During initial investigation, the arrested culprits have revealed committing 16 acts of vehicles stealing in city.
Because of rapidly increasing complaints of car lifting in the provincial metropolis, CCPO directed special Anti-Vehicle Lifting Staff to take strict action in order to eradicate this menace from the city. On the direction of CCPO a special team was deputed that was successful in arresting two culprits of Safdar Hussain car stealing gang.
The modus operandi of the culprits was that they would steal cars with the help of a master key. The areas in which these criminals had committed crime include Sattokatla, Chung, Hanjerwall, Shadman, Ghalib Market, Mughalpura, North Cantt and Qilla Gujjar Singh. The criminals are history-sheeters and nine other cases have also been traced against them in Liaqatabad, Mughalpura, Gulberg, Model Town, Defence Area, Naserabad, Iqbal Town and Samnabad police stations.
The police have recovered seven cars from their possession. The arrested culprits were identified as ringleader Safdar Hussain s/o Bhag Din and Tariq Mehmood s/o Mushtaq Ahmed. A special team had also been formed for the arrested of remaining culprit who were still at large and further investigation is underway. CCPO, Muhammad Pervez Rathore has announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the police raiding team.
