Nazim Karachi, Syed Mustafa Kamal has under section 144 imposed ban on dumping of garbage at places other than specified dumping spots throughout the city for a period of seven days with immediate effect. In an order issued on Friday, the Nazim said pointed out that for the purpose of dumping of garbage, City District Government Karachi has provided two landfill sites at Jam Chakro in Surjani Town and Gound Pass at Hub River road for dumping of garbage collected from all the 18 Towns.
He said that complaints had been received regarding throwing of garbage by various organisations in different areas, which is adding to environmental pollution posing threat to public health.
