Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) leader Moonis Elahi has said that the Punjab government has deviated from its stance of distributing 100 percent resources on the basis of population under the National Finance Commission Award. Now the Punjab has to bear a loss of Rs 100 to 150 billions in coming years, he claimed.
Talking to a delegation of party leaders and workers, which called on him at his residence, he said that besides increase in poverty and unemployment, the development activities would also be affected in the province due to the new policy of the government.
He said that the PML government had received 100 percent resources on the basis of population, but the present government has ignored the interests of Punjab. He said urged the government to take any decision on the NFC award after getting all the political forces of the province into confidence on the very sensitive issue, so that interests of the largest province could be protected.
