Futures open interest decline 47 percent

The open interest at the futures counter decreased by a massive 46.7 percent on week-on-week basis to Rs 51 million. The futures spreads also declined to settle at a level of 1.19 percent (falling by 2.32pps on weekly basis.
Trading activity at the futures counter fell by a significant 4.9 percent on weekly basis with a volume of only 1.34 million shares. The top 5 scrips at the counter were PSO, OGDC, MCB, NML and Engro, which cumulatively contributed 74 percent to the total open interest.
