Divisional Commissioner, Tahir Hussain said that the security arrangements during Muharram would be ensured in towns and villages of the divisions. He urged upon the members of local peace committees to work with full zeal for the promotion of brotherhood, religious harmony and tolerance among the people and keep close check on miscreants.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting to review the Muharram arrangements and performance of revenue department in Jaranwala tehsil held in the office of DDOR Jaranwala. DOR Mubashir Shah, DDOR Irfanullah Wazir, Tehsil Nazim, Chaudhry Muhammad Akrim, ACR Shafqat Ulllah Mushtaq, TMO Malik Amin and others attended the meeting.
Divisional Commissioner directed the TMO Jaranwala to ensure removal of encroachments, cleanliness and electricity arrangements on the approved routs of Muharram processions and the places of Majalis. The stand by arrangements of electrical supply with generators should be ensured, he ordered.
Later, Commissioner Tahir Hussain inspected the revenue records to check the performance of DDOR office. He directed the DDOR Jaranwala for the removal of observations raised by the internal audit and followed the directions of the audit. He also stressed upon the DDOR to gear up the campaign carried out against Qabza Mafia. The commissioner directed the concerned officers for the completion of whole process of Green Tractors Scheme initiated by the CM Punjab in transparent manner.
Earlier, representatives of Anjuman Tajran and growers met the commissioner and expressed their reservations about the supply of Urea fertiliser and sugar. Commissioner ensured that NFC depot would be restored in Jaranwala. During his visit the commissioner also inspected the newly build Jinnah Park and planted saplings in the park and appreciated the efforts of TMA in this regard.
