Sindh Criminal Prosecution Services Department (SCPSD) has asked the Deputy Public Prosecutors (DPPs) of 24 districts of the province to resuscitate the 3577 cases closed under the National Reconciliation Ordinance from October 05, 2007. In this regard, the department has sent letters to DPPs of 24 districts.
Talking to Business Recorder, Prosecutor General (PG), Sindh, Shahadat Awan, said the department had sent letters to the public prosecutors of all district headquarters of Sindh province to resuscitate the cases from the status of October 05, 2007 as the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan declared the controversial Ordinance as void ab initio, and they had been asked to send compliance report as soon as possible.
He said the department had also sent letters to the special courts to revive the cases and take necessary steps in that regard. "The department has also sent the copies of the letters to Chief Minister Sindh, Home Secretary Sindh and all other relevant departments accordingly," he said.
He said the SCPSD had sent letters to the DPPs of Hyderabad, Sukkur, Thatta, Badin, Jamshoro, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Nawabshah, Dadu, Qambar-Shahdadkot, Larkana, Naushero-o-Feroze, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Jacobabad, Khairpur, Sanghar, Kashmore, Matiari, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan and five districts of Karachi.
