Gas Supply Agreement (GSA) has been signed between Tri-Star Modaraba and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) for supply of 20 mmcfd natural gas for a 110 MW gas-fired combined cycle independent power plant (IPP), it is learnt. The plant will be located at Hawkesbay and the generation licence has also been issued recently by National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) for the said project.
The gas has been allocated by the Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC) and will be supplied from Zamzama gas field. The combined cycle independent power plant, having a capacity of 110MW is being setting up by the First Tri-Star Modarabah. The plant being set up at the total cost of $102 million would be operational by December 31, 2010.
