Activity at Karachi and Qasim Ports

The Karachi Port handled 117,438 tonnes of cargo including 78,017 tonnes of import 39,421 tonnes of export cargo and 5,778 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 78,017 tonnes comprised 48,017 of tonnes of dry cargo including 47,241 tonnes of containerised cargo; 3,865 tonnes of bulk cargo; 51 tonnes of general cargo and 30,000 tonnes of oil and/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 39,421 tonnes comprised of 38,221 tonnes of dry cargo including 32,915 tonnes of containerised cargo; 6,736 tonnes of bulk cargo; 1,208 tonnes of general cargo and 1,200 tonnes of oil and/liquid cargo. Four ships comprising two container vessels and two oil tankers sailed out to sea during the reported period. Six vessels comprising four container ships and two oil tankers are currently at the berths.
