An informative and educative healthcare and wellness session was held for young girls and women here at the Women Development Centre Model Town. The event was organised by the Girls and Women Health Initiative (GWHI) in collaboration with the management of the Women Development Centre of the Provincial Social Welfare Department.
It may be noted that GWHI is a non-profit organisation, which is working for better health of young girls and women in Pakistan for last couple of years. Health care specialist Dr Noreen Zafar on the occasion discussed the common gynaecological problems, treatment and cure. "Lifestyle is an important issue involved in the wellness and disease prevention among womenfolk," he added.
She went on to emphasise that the need of proper health education and knowledge about gynaecological issues among young girls is very essential to cope with these health problems easily. The common health problems like anemia, menstrual problems, backache etc, were also deliberated at some length on the occasion. The session turned out to be quite interactive, as interesting questions were asked at the end of the talk by audience members.
