The annual elections of the District Bar Association RYK will be held on January 9, while the final list of the candidates would be displayed on January 6. Speaking at a press conference here on Monday, Bar President Akhtar Mahmood announced the schedule for the elections.
He said the body of the Bar had deposited Rs 400,000 with the Lawers' Welfare Trust, which now had Rs 2.5 million in all. "Fifty new chambers for 50 lawyers at a cost of Rs 22.5 million, including a separate bar room for lady lawyers, had been constructed in our tenure", the president added.
