Capital Development Authority (CDA) has despatched a specialised team to take part in rescue operation started in Hunza district after an unfortunate incident of landsliding. A team consisting of 26 rescuers, group and team leaders of the specialised Urban Search and Rescue Component of Directorate of Emergency and Disaster Management, CDA departed here on Tuesday.
The team is equipped with sophisticated equipments, listening and detecting devices and other equipment. Chairman CDA Imtiaz Inayat Elahi has directed the team to fully participate in rescue activities and deliver to the optimum to address the hardships being suffered by the people.
He also directed the next batch of rescuers along with canine search, to remain stand-by to meet any further needs. Director General (Civic Management), Syed Mustafain Kazmi said the Directorate of Emergency and Disaster Management is equipped with all necessary modern devices and capable to cope with the natural calamities or emergency.
He said the crew of Emergency and Disaster Management Directorate is highly skilled in line with modern techniques and trained from Finland. According to reports, the incident at Atta Abad require a meticulous search underneath to find those alive and dead still seeking rescue, therefore, the help was sought from CDA through dispatch of first crew at the incident site.
