Partly Facetious: GDP also means Group Defending the President

"Democracy will be strengthened after President Zardari's tour of the Punjab."
Published January 15, 2010

"Democracy will be strengthened after President Zardari's tour of the Punjab."
"I hear there is no democracy in several African countries..."
"The President has already made a profitable trip to Libya. Qadhafi gifted him several bullet proof cars I believe."
"Ah yes and the President has bought these cars for himself."
"I heard - all you have to do is give a fraction of the cost and keep the gift. But I believe the President is not happy with Qadhafi."
"Why?"
"He didn't invite him to Italy when he paid off beautiful Italian girls some money to listen to him preach Islam."
"You are being facetious today."
"Hey I also hear there is no democracy in Waziristan, South or North, so maybe we should send our President there too."
"Oh shush."
"By the way who in the world made this inane remark about democracy being served if President Zardari visits?"
"Guess?"
"Salmaan Taseer?"
"No that gentleman was too busy getting the Governor House ready for his patron."
"He doesn't need to get it ready the Governor House staff can deal with that."
"Ah but that would mean no personal touch that Taseer brings to all things and statements."
"You are being facetious today."
"I hear that the Governor is giving up his bedroom for the President."
"Oh shush but any way it wasn't Taseer who thought democracy would be served if the President visits Punjab."
"Who then?"
"The other scion of GDP."
"Where does Gross Domestic Product come in?"
"I meant the Group Defending the President. And the man is Raja Riaz."
"Ah yes."
