Sultan Ahmed Chawla, President FPCCI has nominated Muhammad Farooq Afzal of ITN group of companies as Chairman and Ahsan-ul-Haq Siddiqui of Artex International as Vice Chairman of Pakistan Russia Business Council (PRBC) of FPCCI for the 2010 term.
He advised that new Council to promote and increase Pakistan's trade collaboration in joint venture and investment opportunities and possibilities of trade delegation exchange.
After nomination as Chairman, Farooq Afzal said that consumer goods market in Russia consists of 1.27 trillion dollar and if a proper strategy is adopted than Pakistan can surge its consumer goods export to Russia up to one billion dollars within a year. Therefore, my top priorities will be to create awareness of Russian market in Pakistan, organise single country exhibitions in Karachi and Moscow and direct interaction between the business communities and trade bodies of both the countries.
He will also co-ordinate closely with the Ministry of Commerce to suggest them solutions in removing the trade barriers with Russia which are hampering export promotion. The new chairman extended his thanks to the President FPCCI and members of PRBC for reposing trust on him.-PR
