An important meeting between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif and Awami National Party (ANP) President, Asfandyar Wali Khan is scheduled to be held in next week to resolve the issue of renaming of North West Frontier Province (NWFP).
The ANP Information Secretary Senator Zahid Khan on Saturday told Business Recorder that both the committees of ANP and PML-N have given recommendations in this regard and now the heads of the parties would decide about the long-awaited renaming issue of NWFP.
He said that the ANP has proposed Pakhtoonkhawa, Afghania and Pakhtoonistan, while the PML-N has given the name of Khyber, Ghandara and Abaseen in the last meeting of the committees. He said that the place of meeting would be decided on return of Mian Nawaz Sharif from China. He said that both sides had authorised their chiefs to finalise the name.
