Sindh Minister for Environment and Alternative Energy Shaikh Mohammad Afzal has said that drone attacks are not in favour of the country and the nation, therefore, it is the need of hour to stop them with immediate effect. In a statement, he said that killing of innocent people including women and children in drone attacks was the matter of great concern.
"As Muslims we can not see our brothers and sisters being killed or oppressed in any part of the world. We as a Pakistani nation also condemn Israeli atrocities against Muslims in Palestine." Palestine issue should also be resolved according to the UN Resolutions, he said.
The minister said that peace could be restored in the region only by stopping atrocities against innocent people and ensuring provision of rights to them.
Meanwhile, Afzal has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of prominent journalist Irshad Hussain Haqani. In his condolence message he said that Haqani was a bold and courageous journalist. His services rendered for freedom of press would be remembered forever, the minister added.
