DCO Faisalabad Saeed Wahlah has directed the concerned officers to carry out detailed survey of Railway level crossing in the district and compile a complete list of the authorised unmanned and unauthorised unmanned level crossings, so that proper safety measures could be taken.
He issued the directives while presiding over the meeting of district committee for survey of railway level crossings constituted by the Home Department Punjab. The DCO directed that unauthorised and illegal railway level crossings should immediately be removed and the additional and extra level crossings situated between the short distance should also be finished to avoid any untoward incident.
He asked the concerned officers to recommend and indicate unmanned level crossings requiring immediate installation of drop down barriers to control/regulate the traffic so as to avert accidents on the level crossings.
DOC Liaqat Ali Chatha, SP Admn Robin Yamin, EDO Works Muhammad Aslam, Assistant Engineer Railways and others attended the meeting. Meanwhile, the DCO presided over another meeting for reviewing the hindrances and obstacles in implementation of Faisalabad Roads Rehabilitation Programme.
He directed that the illegal encroachments and other obstacles should immediately removed from the under construction General Hospital Road, Ghulam Muhammadabad Road and Karkhana Bazaar Road. He said that effective strategy should be adopted for removal of the hindrances from the under construction roads and Fesco authorities should remove the electric polls from these roads by end of next month. The meeting was attended by SAO Muhammad Saeed Dilhon, DDOR City Muhammad Asif and officers of NLC, Fesco and other departments.
