The Karachi Port handled 103,315 tonnes of cargo including 60,142 tonnes of import cargo; 43,173 tonnes of export cargo and 5,993 loaded and empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 60,142 tonnes comprised of 49,734 tonnes of containerised cargo; 735 tonnes of bulk cargo; 837 tonnes of canola and 8,836 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 43,173 tonnes comprised of 32,551 tonnes of containerised cargo; 771 tonnes of bulk cargo and 8,183 tonnes of cement and 1,668 tonnes of rice. Six ships namely Sima Sahba, Bunga Raya Lapan, COS Fair, Salsabila, Mustafa H and Queen Arrow-I sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Six vessels viz Jakarta Express, Hyundai Commodore, Thor Dynamic, Michalis K, CSL Maril and Bunga Raya Lapan are currently at the berths. Four ships namely Al-Marwah, Hyundai Commodore, CSL Maril and Jakarta Express expected to sail on Thursday, while four vessels viz Samin-1, Sargodha, Alpha and Kota Lambai are expected to sail on Friday.
Four vessels viz Fade-1, Astra, Le He and Confidence Ocean due to arrive on Thursday, while eight ships namely Moyra, JBU Opal, Stol Wisteria, Hammonia Pacificum, YM Europe, Konkar Thco, Nadeem and Oriental Wisteria are due to arrive on Friday.
The total export cargo of 14,558 tonnes includes 1,655 tonnes of rice; 711 tonnes of cement and 12,192 tonnes of containerised cargo. Three ships namely MT Beaufort Sea, CV ACX Pearl and CV CSAC Jura sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while a container vessel viz CV Ville d Orion is expected to sail on Thursday.
Five vessels viz CV Ville d Orion, CV CSAC Jura, MV Oriental Bridge, MT Alexi-III and MT Fair Spirit are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours. A total number of three ships namely Dubai Express, Al-Salam-II and Al-Anbariah carrying containers, diesel oil and furnace oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
Two container vessels viz CV Dubai Express and CV Asir are expected to take berths at Container Terminal on Thursday. Two ships namely MT Indradi and MT Heung Puioneer carrying chemicals and palm oil due to arrive on Thursday, while three more vessels viz CV Maersk Novazzano, MSC Jeanne and MT Bhairavi are due to arrive on Friday. Four vessels viz Green Point, Norasia Alps, Hammurabi and Wales-II carrying containers and cement are also due to arrive.
