Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) Professor Dr Israr Ahmed has said that construction of new building of the institute is underway and it would be completed at a cost of Rs 1083 million within the stipulated period.
During his visit to the under construction project at Lahore General Hospital, Professor Israr said this will be a centre of excellence where medical education, research as well as training facilities will be provided to the trainee doctors.
He directed that quality of material should be upheld in the construction. Later, talking to the PGMI students, he said that two hostels for the doctors and an animal house would also be a part of the building.
He further said that the Post Graduate Medical Institute and LGH would play its active role in providing the latest medical facilities and upgrading medical education according to the vision of the Chief Minister Punjab, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.
Professor Dr Israr Ahmed further said that the specialist doctors of this institution are providing services in all the government hospitals and it is our motive to train more and more doctors and extend diploma and degree courses to them so that the services of specialist doctors could be available, not only to the people of Punjab but also for the people of other provinces.-PR
