White canes and ration were distributed among the blind people by the Chhipa Welfare Association. An announcement of the organisation here on Sunday, said that the chief of the Association, Ramzan Chhipa, also met with the blind people, listen to their problems and assured their redressal.
It said that Chhipa also had a meeting with the president of the Organisation for the Welfare of Special persons, K M Jamaluddin, in his office. He said that there are quite a number of blinds but majority of them do not beg and instead work hard to feed themselves and their families.
However, there are some who cannot work because of their ailment and facing problems to make both the ends meet. Such people deserve the financial and other assistance from philanthropists and well to do people, it was further pointed out. Chhipa said that his organisation is quietly assisting many of the poor and needy family through provision of ration on monthly basis.
